Sensor-controlled lighting solutions

Modern luminaires are getting smarter. Integrated sensors help them create optimal room lighting conditions, while adapting dynamically to their environment and human needs. Presence sensors ensure that luminaires dim automatically or switch off entirely when the room is vacated. The brightness senor enables the light intensity to adjust to the ambient brightness. This creates a natural lighting mood while saving energy. Luminaires with Dynamic Daylight Control generate a more pleasant atmosphere for living and working. They change their light colour and intensity over the course of the day, matching the human biorhythm. Control our smart lighting solutions easily and centrally. The luminaires are connected wirelessly or wired to the building management system and can be controlled directly from a smart device. Based on the data transmitted by the sensors, you can measure room use and the energy efficiency of your building and optimise it sustainably. Simply smart.

Your advantages

Smart sensors

Luminaires are automatically dimmed or switched off by motion  control when the room is vacant.

Inside light uses outside light

Light-sensitive sensors regulate the performance of the luminaires, creating a balance between natural and artificial light.

Pleasant working atmosphere

Dynamic light patterns adapt the light colour and intensity to the human biorhythm. This promotes well-being and productivity.

Central control

The entire lighting system is controlled simply and clearly via a central system to ensure all luminaires interact optimally.

Relevant building data

Use detailed data analysis to accurately measure building usage, optimise lighting, and reduce energy consumption.

Save up to 80% of electricity consumption by using intelligent sensor technology.

Save energy with smart sensor technology

The savings potential of LED lighting can be fully exploited if modern lighting technology, professional lighting design, and intelligent lighting control form a single unit. Sensors that are integrated almost invisibly into our luminaires create an ideal atmosphere in the room and enable long-term cost savings. Whether in offices, shops, or classrooms, the sensor-controlled luminaires react dynamically to the surroundings and adapt to human needs. The luminaires are hard-wired or connected wirelessly to the building management system and can be controlled directly via a smart device. Using the transmitted data, you can record and sustainably optimise the space utilisation and energy balance of your entire building. Simply smart.

Intelligent light

Thanks to smart-sensor technology, our luminaires react to presence, automatically dimming or switching off when no one is in the room. By evaluating relevant building data, you can precisely analyse building usage and optimise the lighting. This in turn reduces your energy consumption while extending the luminaires’ service life. Data such as temperature, humidity, noise levels, and CO2 content can also be measured by smart sensors. Customised office lighting

FlexOffice Basel, Switzerland

A customised lighting concept, adapted to the needs of the individual team members, was created by XAL for FlexOffice. The primary objective was to create not only a multifunctional design element in the interior architecture, but also an impressive design highlight. This concept was to facilitate a customisable and experience-oriented use of the space. In addition, a play of light was to be developed for the opening that would attract attention from a distance and craft glamorous moments. XAL handled the programming of each individual light module for the spectacular event lighting in-house.

Central control of all luminaires

Smart Control interconnects all luminaires into one lighting system. Our luminaires can be connected to each other as well as to other devices and the internet. This allows individual elements or entire building complexes to be activated and controlled from different locations.

If you are already using a building management system, our luminaires can very easily be connected to it through the DALI control protocols. Our digital solutions experts would be delighted to advise you.

Building optimisation through smart data

Smart luminaires deliver optimum light and provide you with valuable information about the use of your building. The sensors in the luminaires can, for example, measure which areas of your shopping centre are busiest, or which premises in an office building are heavily or hardly occupied. These findings can be used for targeted advertising, orientation guidance systems, or projects such as desk sharing.

Heat mapping and energy monitoring also help you to precisely evaluate the energy consumption of your building. In this way you can optimise your lighting system and sustainably reduce your energy consumption.

Get to know your building better. We are happy to create smart data reports for you, tailored to your requirements. You can gather the data even during operation in order to gain relevant insights.

How to use smart data

Smart data opens up a wide range of possibilities to keep a closer eye on your building and to take targeted optimisation measures, whether in communications or energy consumption.

Movement patterns: Use smart data to identify which areas of your retail store or shopping centre are frequented by the most customers in order to install targeted advertising or guidance systems.

Asset and position tracking: You can locate important assets and thus know at all times where in the building they are thanks to the so-called Beacons.

Use of space: Find out which rooms are most frequently used, and which are regularly vacant. This allows for a better overview of capacities and the effective implementation of projects such as desk sharing.

Energy balance: Where is the most energy consumed? How do these values coincide with the time and occupancy of the rooms? You can sustainably save costs with precise sensor data.

A modern office in a historic setting

The grandstands at the horse racetrack in Vienna were designed according to the concept of "activity-based working", which offers a flexible working environment for different working styles. This includes both fixed workstations and flexible work areas as required. To facilitate this, customised free-standing BETO luminaires with integrated sensor technology were used. The sensors measure light intensity, noise levels, air quality, presence, and temperature to optimise working conditions and increase the well-being of employees.

To the project

Works with Loxone

The XAL luminaires BETO free standing and TASK free standing are now even smarter. The two floor lamps are the first XAL products which can be integrated into Loxone automated building control systems. Enhanced by the intelligent "Loxone Air" module, which is installed directly in the luminaires, light and other building functions can be synchronized: for example, lighting with shutters and room temperature.

Scalability

Tailored and flexible

If scalable solutions for multiple rooms are required, they can be developed wirelessly, wired, or as a combination. Thanks to open systems the possibilities are limitless. Your solution will be tailored to you.

Seamless integration

Almost all-in-one: Using PLC-based industrial systems, almost any bus protocol can be used and interfaced between different systems. The integration of lighting control into an existing building management system is therefore simple and seamless.
