The interior design for MOSH Bar&Dinner in the heart of Bucharest boasts an impressive concept of a transformative space, fluidly alternating between haute cuisine, mixology, and club vibes. The concept combines hospitality, art, and design in a truly unique way. The architects at Innocad call it "The Multitalented Space", in which people experience added value that goes beyond functional and aesthetic qualities. The space is divided into a garden lounge, private dining, and an epicentre – a room-in-room concept that combines a bar, two long tables, and a DJ booth.
The organically shaped garden lounge to the left of the entrance, surrounded by windows and tall vegetation, provides added peace and tranquillity. To give the room a unique character, the artwork "Manic Youth" by Manfred Erjautz, one of Austria's leading sculptors, hangs from the ceiling. This biophilic structure was created exclusively for this hospitality design and represents a root network of a 100-year-old oak tree.
The slightly elevated dining area, enclosed by translucent curtains, offers privacy and exclusivity for smaller groups of guests. The ambience can be adjusted using three different lighting scenes: a bright one that focuses on the dishes on the table, a second, subdued scene for after-dinner bar time, and a party scene in which the main element is the moving light controlled by a KNX system. This lighting concept sets the mood while becoming part of the conversation and enhancing the visual appeal of the dishes and cocktails.
A backlit fractal pattern with stress-reducing properties, developed in collaboration with 13&9 Design and Fractals Research, is perforated into the Epicentre’s suspended ceiling. Using PABLO focus spotlights with a variable beam angle between 17° and 47°, these fractals are projected onto the entire floor of the room as an immersive lighting design in the form of flying dots, creating a vibrant yet intimate atmosphere. The fractal patterns are not static. They evolve over the course of the evening, reflecting the pulsating energy of the city and the lively conversation of the guests.
INNOCAD architecture
Light is our favourite material as without it, no materiality can be perceived at all. It facilitates a room’s many different facets. Since architecture can only be experienced through the effect of light, it makes it three-dimensional, structures it, and imbues it with atmosphere.
