The German flagship store of the Mads Nørgaard fashion brand in Berlin Mitte pursues a sustainable approach to interior design that combines urban elegance with flexibility. The shop area was designed by the Danish design company Kirk Design. In collaboration with lighting designers Anker & Co, a lighting solution was developed that emphasises the spatial aesthetics and effectively showcases the products in the store. The various design elements combine Danish classics with industrial materials inspired by Berlin architecture.
For the realisation of the project, the MOVE IT45 track system in raw aluminium was modified especially for this project to emphasise the urban look. The grid of the track system was designed to meet the future requirements of Mads Nørgaard in Berlin and to offer a high degree of flexibility. The inserts in the profile allow for easy adjustment of the beam angle, so that employees can accentuate clothing and accessories as they wish. Since spotlights and linear inserts can be easily mounted and moved magnetically without tools, the lighting can be easily redesigned when the store layout changes.
An integrated sensor solution in the profile system can measure customer frequency in the store as well as parameters such as air quality, CO2, room temperature and daylight. This enables shop owners to precisely analyse and continuously optimise energy consumption. The result is retail spaces that inspire customers and conserve resources.
Good lighting solutions create happy and motivated people. I like the fact that our selection of lighting brands makes a difference and inspires people. I myself get inspiration from my family, my friends, nature and not least the four seasons. My goal is to reflect the shift of seasonal daylight in the lighting solutions we offer.
