Art, light and sound
With our support, the landmark of the city of Graz will once again be transformed into a light sculpture visible from afar. The renowned artist Yann Nguema has been won over for this year's Klanglicht art festival. His multimedia installation ‘Reverse’ - a play on the French ‘rêve’ for ‘dream’ - transports visitors into a dreamlike confusion of space and time. The installation shows a contemplative choreography on the Graz Clock Tower, which allows the architecture of the building to step out of itself, emerge again and again from other dimensions and reassemble itself.
Yann Nguema
Yann Nguema, founder of the French visual label EZ3kiel, is a versatile artist who has his roots in science. As a designer, musician and programmer, he combines technology, research and poetry to merge light and sound in an impressive way. In his work, he explores and utilises the complex relationships between image and sound, developing his own software tools that enrich sound-light with interactive experiences.
‘I want to offer my audience a moment of poetry and beauty - a 7-minute interlude of wonder that does them good.’
Yann Nguema
